Read, Write, Rest, Repeat.

Read, Write, Rest, Repeat. That’s a perfect Sunday to me.

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday. This Sunday I’m reading Let Me Tell You What I Mean by Joan Didion. It’s a collection of never-seen-before essays from the early parts of her career. I was drawn to it because it’s Joan Didion and I am at that point in my life where I want to explore this type of expression in my own work. It’s a great Sunday read to reflect on the now as she saw it years ago.

Notes on my life:

I found this book at my favorite book store in New York, McNally Jackson and I read it on July 16th when I took three planes to pick up Nasir from camp and get us home to LA. I am wearing my new favorite pants by Paula Canovas Del Vas that I found at Maxfields in LA that I write in and travel in and run around the LES thinking I’m cute in. My new favorite Birkenstocks on my feet are the go tos for everything, especially airport travel. I’ve also got my girl Clare V’s “Le Belt Bag” and her eye-glass case that I love so much that she makes the move to every bag—change I make.

And of course always by my side is the scarf/blankie/beach towel/bathing suit wrap that Salim brought home for me one day ten years ago. Why? Because he always brings me beautiful things… a nice reminder 30,000 feet in the air.
